Lawndale Business and Local Development Corp. (LBLDC)

About LBLDC

Background and History

  • Lawndale Business and Local Development Corporation (LBLDC) was formed in 1985 to promote the economic health of Lawndale and adjacent areas through retention and expansion of business, and to provide new opportunities for residents through local training and employment.

As one of Chicago's leading community development groups, LBLDC continues to provide new opportunities to members by linking them to vital community and government resources. These include assistance with loan processing, city services, job training programs, business development, Empowerment and Enterprise Zone incentives, exporting and trade information, and access to technology and modernization resources through local organizations.

LBLDC also provides a forum through which members come together for networking and other business purposes. While our members vary from small to large, manufacturing to service industries, we all work together to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of a dynamic community.
